Unable to Download Aadhaar Card Online - quick tips

At times when a user tries to download his or her Aadhaar Card from the official government website, he or she is unable to do so. The issue is more to do with connection errors, wrong input etc rather than anything related to the official website.

The official government UIDAI website typically performs exceptionally well. So here's what you should do if you are unable to dounload  your Aadhaar card online.

Step 1: Check your internet connection

When you are trying to download the electronic copy of Aadhaar Card from the official website, it is suggested that you try downloading on high speed internet connection. If you are trying to download on a 2G mobile connection, you may experience issues in the download process due to slow network bandwidth.

Step 2: Check your Input Data

The electronic copy of your Aadhaar card (e-Aadhaar) can be downloaded using

a. Your existing 12 digit Aadhaar number

b. Using the Aadhaar Enrollment ID (a 14 digit number) and the 14 digit date and time slip which is printed on your enrollment slip

c. Virtual ID number. In case you have created a virtual id for your Aadhaar, you can use the 16 digit VID to download your Aadhaar card.

Note: In each of the scenarios if you make a wrong entry you may experience issues in downloading your Aadhaar card.

Make sure the data you are entering is correct and you should be able to download your e-Aadhaar in quick time. Also while attempting to download the e-Aadhaar you will be asked for OTP code for verification.

In case you still experience any problems you can try contacting the official helpline number or email.

Important: The e-Aadhaar would be available in form of a password protected PDF document.
