In what may be a Big Relief for millions of Aadhaar card holders, the The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has strongly denied the claims of data breach made by a certain newspaper.
In eye grabbing story, claims of Aadhaar database available for just Rs 500 were made. It was mentioned that a WhatsApp group is sharing Aadhaar data for a partly sum. However UIDAI has now completely rubbished such allegations .
It claims there has been no breach of Biometric data. There is only possibility of misuse of search facility but Biometric data remains safe.
Now if you are worried about safety of your data - you may choose to lock your Aadhaar data by visiting the UIDAI site.
