Aadhaar exposed over
5 crore fake and Ghost Account in India
According to a recent report published by New Indian
Express, it has been revealed that aadhaar card has helped the government in
tracking down over 5 crore ‘ghost accounts’ in the country.
These details were revealed by Piyush Goyal, who is the Minister
if Railways and Coal in India on last Saturday. Ever since the government has
made it mandatory for Indian citizens to link their aadhaar accounts with their
LPG, bank account, and other government approved services, the government has
found and eliminated millions of fake and ghost accounts from the said
authorities list. Government has captured 1.6 fake ration cards and 3.5 crore
LPG connections with the help of this aadhaar card linking rule. Piyush Goyal
shared a video on his Twitter account which he captioned saying that Aadhaar helped in exposing over 5 crore, ghost accounts, including ration cards of over 1.6 crore fake users and 3.5 crore LPG connections.
Goyal tweeted this great news one day after Supreme Court
heard the plea under which Aadhaar card has been accused of challenging the “constitutional
Validity” of Indian citizens.
