Now you can Correct Aadhaar Card Details by Visiting your Nearest Post Office


In a country like India, where the population crosses a billion counts, it is very common to have mistakes in the most crucial of id proofs. Aadhaar card today has become one of the most needed id proof, but since it had been made in a hurry for a lot of people, it is also the one which ends up having lot of errors. Having wrong details printed in your Aadhaar card can certainly cause a lot of trouble, but this is sadly the story of a lot of Aadhaar holders in India. There are mistakes in one or the other field for a lot of Aadhaar holders.



However, due to the recent signing of the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between UIDAI and India post, you can get all the errors in your Aadhaar card rectified, by giving one visit to the nearest post office. This practice was started with none other than the IT hub of India; Bangaluru. Here, eight different post offices were given the authority to make necessary changes in Aadhar card details for users with incorrect details. This provision will soon be extended to other states as well.

Changes can be made for all the basic details like name, age, gender, date of birth and address. To make changes, you will first have to download the correction form from the site, and you can apply for change through post application, for a maximum of four times.

  1. I HAD SUBMIT AADHAR CORRECTION ON 20.10.17 BUT WHEN I CHECK IN ONLINE AADHAR STATUS IS SHOWING ITS UNDER PROCESS.

  2. It seems it is taking too much time. If you have submitted the details via a center - please contact the center immediately. Also if the corrections were requested online and not done contact Aadhaar Helpline 1947 or write to help@uidai.gov.in
