government has already announced its Finance Act 2017, in which the Income Tax
Department has made it mandatory for its user to quote their Aadhaar Card or
Aadhaar enrollment ID, before filling for ITR (Income Tax Returns). This
provision will come into effect by 1st July 2017.
This

Tax Department e-filing website in order to connect your cards. Anyone can link
their Aadhaar with their PAN by simply following the process.
Step 3: The link will demand you to enter your Aadhaar
number, PAN number and user exact name which is mentioned on their Aadhaar Card
to verify your authenticity.
Step 4: One you entered these details; it will be
verified by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), before linking is
confirmed. In case there is any mismatch in your entry, your Aadhaar OTP will
be required to solve the issue.
Step 5: You will get this OTP on your registered mobile
number with Aadhaar.
Step 6: Income Tax Department has stresses that
taxpayers should ensure that their name, age and other details in both these
identification and taxation prove, in order to connect the two accounts without
any failure.
Step 7: In case the user has a different name on both of
these documents then the linking attempt will automatically failing. Prompting
the user to change and match the two databases as this is clause has been made
mandatory as per the act.

Step 10: According to a report by Press Trust India, it
was reported that over 1.18 crore users have already linked there Aadhaar
databases with the PAN information’s.
