Aadhaar Status Tab

                                                              Aadhaar Status Tab

What is Aadhaar Status and how can you check it?

After enrolling yourself to get an Aadhaar card, you would obviously want to know the progress of your application. Thus the option of ‘Aadhaar Status’ has been provided to you, even by the official
UIDAI website. Through this option you can track the progress of your application, or the status of your Aadhaar card. This will provide you the updates regarding your application, and when you will be getting your Aadhaar card delivered.

If you are the one who regularly shops online, you might have come across options like ‘track your order’ on multiple online shopping portals. This option of ‘check your status’ is much like the tracking option you spot on these portals. This helps you get sure about the delivery of the product, and know when you should be available to collect it yourself. For all those who have enrolled for Aadhaar Card and need it as early as possible, they can know about the status of their Aadhaar application through this option. When your Aadhaar card is ready for download, you can also opt for downloading the E – Aadhaar, till your Aadhaar card gets delivered. E – Aadhaar is as acceptable as the original Aadhaar card.

How to Check Aadhaar Status
After you have enrolled for Aadhaar card, and are awaiting its delivery, you can check status online, with the help of your EID (Enrollment ID). This is a combination of the enrollment number and the date and time of your enrollment, listed on your acknowledgement slip. You can thus create your EID in the following steps.

  • Select the 24 digit enrollment number listed on your acknowledgement slip.
  • Combine this 14 digit number with the 14 digit date and time on the slip given in dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss format.

The resulting 28 digit number is your EID, which can be used for tracking your Aadhaar status. If you have lost your EID, and need to track your Aadhaar status, you will first need to recover your lost EID. This can be done online through the Retrieve your EID\UID option on the website. However, for this too, you will need access to your registered mobile number, as this will be done through the use of an OTP, which will be send on your mobile. After completing the process, you will not only be able to check your Aadhaar card status, but also know how much more time it will take for delivery.

Why you should keep on checking the status?

If you have enrolled for an Aadhar card and are expecting it soon, it is important for you to check its status so that you can be there to collect it when it is delivered. This will not only prevent it from getting misplaced, but will also allow you to check for all the important details, and see if any updates or changes are needed. It is thus advisable to all applicants to keep on tracking their status, and make sure they are there to collect the Aadhaar cards themselves.
